Welcome! After having my very first batch (a basic cider) go down the drain because of infection, I recommend lots of star san. I thought I was taking enough precautions with that first one, but after it spoiled, I am absolutely meticulous with my sanitation throughout the process. Since then, no problems.

I don't know what types of beers you enjoy, but as far as what to brew, I would recommend something like Austin Homebrew Supply's golden honey ale (aka honey blonde). I do the liquid malt extract (LME) version and very much enjoy it.

You will find this forum not only very helpful, but addicting at times. There are many different tastes, experience levels, and opinions here. You will never run out of things to try.

Good luck!!!

Welcome to the group, from CO.

Manhattan, space to store beer? That's a tough one.
