New Brewer from Indianapolis.

Hello, I'm Mike. I got a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas and it's been gathering dust. But I'm getting ready to do my first batch and I wanted to read up on tips and such.

The Mr. Beer thread is MASSIVE but I think I'll read through at least a few dozen pages for advice.

I've been to Great Fermentations here in town, our LHBS (I'm guessing that is "Local Home Brew Store"?) for new yeast, bottles and a capper. And I knew as soon as I walked in this hobby is going to be trouble!

The guys there tried to talk me into a big setup but I'm going to use my gift first and see how it goes.

Welcome! Ask us on here before you upgrade. Some LHBS will sell you a lot of crap you don't need.

Yeah, they got a little eager seeing my interest. I do want a glass carboy though. I want to watch the fermentation like that.
