Hello everyone! I've been reading posts here for quite some time, but for whatever reason never got around to making an account. The info on this forum has been incredibly helpful so far. I've been brewing for about two years now. I started making mead and fruit-base wines, but about a year ago I ventured into beer making. Like most, I started with an extract kit, but I found it a little too boring for my taste. Currently, I'm doing partial mashes and slowly accumulating sufficient equipment to go all-grain.

I'm a senior Chemistry major at Ole Miss. In addition to brewing, I do a lot of cooking. I like the technical stuff, like breadmaking, candymaking, and of course, barbeque. I've got dreams to someday open a brewpub/barbeque joint, but that's a long way off.

In my primary: Amber ale, experimental recipe.

In my secondaries: Vanilla Bean Braggot (My design, it's been in secondary for 13 months now and getting bottled next month. The anticipation has been killing me.); 40-pound Pear Wine (Using fruit from my parents' pear trees)

In Bottles: Swamp Honey Show Mead

Next in queue: IPA (nothing fancy)

I'm a senior bio major at Alfred U in NY. I started brewing because I figured it was just like chem. I went all grain first because I wanted it to be more hands on (plus its a hell of a lot cheaper).

Anyway, welcome!
