Default Hey from South Africa

Hi Everyone!

Stumbled across your forum, must say its very informative! im going to start a little home brew setup, making the stainless steel pot but not sure if it should be wide and short or long thin and tall, any suggestions? aswell as how to chill my wort after the boil, not sure on an ice bath or immersion chiller, any suggestions are welcome!

Keen to get brewing soon(as soon as more money comes in) and share experiences and experiments

Alex

I would go with taller and skinnier as opposed to wide and short. The larger your surface area the more liquid you will loose by evaporation. As for chilling, it really depends on your batch size. Ice bath will work ok for 5 and under gallons but larger volumes I'd want an immersion chiller for.
