Heading to Milwaukee Friday for an event Saturday from 12-5. Anyone know some family thing sot do in Milwaukee teens might like? Also any good places to get some hard to find beers and any recommendations of beers to look for there?

Cool place to check out?

If you're looking for beer, Discount Liquor on Oklahomo is your best bet. Of course, I'm not from Milwaukee, this is just where I've stopped everytime I go near the city and they have one of the best selections I've seen in that area.

If your teens are into science stuff or gadgets, discovery world at pier Wisconsin is awesome.

If they are into art, the art museum is great.

Shopping in the 3rd ward (just south of Hwy 94, for example on Milwaukee street) is really fun.

The Brewers play the Astros at beautiful Miller Park Friday night. You could enjoy a great party atmosphere and tailgating int he parking lot before hand (a true Milwaukee tradition) then enjoy a good game at one of the best ballparks in the world.

Milwaukee food tours is a really fun way to see the city. http://www.milwaukeefoodtours.com/

Watch an independent film at the Oriental theatre on the East side.

Relax at the lakefront, watch some people flying kites, get an ice cream.

Check out Arab world fest at the lakefront festival grounds. http://milwaukee.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=milwaukee&cdn=citiestowns&tm=9&f=00&s u=p284.9.336.ip_p554.13.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=1&zu =http%3A//www.arabworldfest.com/

Go see a huge Chihuli exhibit: Chihuly at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park: A New Eden

Discount is on Oklahoma (not homo ) and 51st. +1 to that.

The State Fair starts on Thursday and goes for 10 (?) days. Eat tons of stuff that's deep fried on a stick Not to mention beer. More BMC than anything but you can check out Beno's @ the fair. They have the best micro type beers @ the fair.

For a bar, try the Bomb Shelter on like 2nd street 2 blocks south of National (south of the Allen Bradley clock tower-can't miss it). Lots of good beers there. Small place but who cares about that.

As far as breweries go, try doing a tour at Lakefront brewery (or Miller-ehh or Sprecher-in Glendale, just north of Milwaukee). You have to get there EARLY because they usually sell out quick.

Northern Brewer has a Milwaukee store now.

You should be able to Google this stuff if you want need more specifics.....

Thanks. Already printed directions to Northern Brewer. They are having a scratch and dent sell. Saturday all my time is taken for the most part so I'm trying to fit in most of the stuff tomorrow. Hopefully I'll make a 10th of the stuff I want to do.
