Default Heading To Baltimore...Sugestions?

I'm going to a wedding in Baltimore in a couple of weeks. Any good local brew pubs/beer I should try while I'm there?

I'm staying in Owings Mills, MD. Doubt I'll be able to get to far far there. I'll have kids & a SWAMBO in tow.

If you're in Fells Point, go to Bertha's for some mussels and Oliver's ESB on cask. It's the only place that has it on cask.

Also check out The Wharf Rat, which also serves Oliver's.

Beer is the mind-killer. Beer is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my beer. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see it's path. When the beer has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Thanks for the leads all

Are any of those places kid (6 & 3) friendly, for lunch or something?

The actual wedding is in Westminster, MD at the Inn at Roop's Mill. I guess it only goes 'till about 9:30 or so and then it out to the bars around there. Which is a bit odd for me. Weddings here usually go till 12 at the reception.

If you're gonna be in westminster, you may as well hit up the Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick.

Bertha's is friendly for kids, plus it's next to a pretty good gelato place. Pretty much any of those places in Fells Point are fine for kids if you're going there during lunch time. Max's is a must, best beer selection in Baltimore, guaranteed. Max's has a more private upstairs, so does the greene turtle across the street. Brick Oven Pizza, right next to Bertha's is a decent place to eat. Kooper's tavern has good sliders. Of course, if you really want to cater more to the kids, the inner harbor might be better (all the previous places i describer were in fells point). The inner harbor is more expensive, but more modern rather than old towny, and has more selection as far as food and ambiance but i wouldn't pub hop there.

For lunch, i suggest Baugher's in Westminster, nice country-style restaurant

We took my 14-month-old son to Bertha's for early dinner on a Friday. Ask to go into the back dining room. He and I ran around and played with the wiattress until our food came.

Why not try to get to Dogfishhead's brew pub in Gaithersburg. It's only about an hours drive.
