Randy Moss wasn't kidding about being willing to play for less money. The contract he agreed to with the Patriots reduced his pay for 2007 to $3 million. He was scheduled to earn $9.75 million. Moss can also earn more in incentives.

GREAT pickup for the Pats - very low risk, huge potential payoff.
For the Raiders, what difference does it make? They'll be lucky to improve to "mediocre" next year, meaning he'll be pissed off all season and they'll end up having to cut him just to get rid of him. Surprised they couldn't get a second rounder for him, but in the end, seem that the market for Moss was not all that robust. Belichick's established enough and the locker room is so solid that if Moss will succeed ANYWHERE, it'll be in New England.
