Default Chef Pauls Bavarian Lodge

Last night, me and Mrs. Food met up with her brother and his wife for dinner at the above named restaurant. It's on Ogden Rd. in Lisle, Illinois.

What a fantastic place. Enormous portions of food, and an expansive beer menu. To top it off, the tap beers come in three sizes: baby (12oz) Large (22oz) and Jumbo (46oz). I enjoyed a Jumbo Spaten Oktoberfest. I was going to top it off with a jumbo Franzi or a Hoegarden, but my party seemed to be ready to leave after our meals.

As for food, I had a meal of Tiroler Schnitzle, Thuringer and Kasser something-or-other (a big pork chop) with some spatzel and creamed spinach. It was under $20 for the meal, and the Jumbo beer was $11.

Anyone in Illinois should go to this restaurant. I give it a big thumbs up.

God I miss the food in (and around) Chicago. It's just tough to find a good Schnitzle down here.

There's a good German rest around 40 miles from me in Bradford, IL.

I've been there a lot.
