Hey all,

I made a MLT out of a Rubbermaid 10 gallon cooler (orange circle water cooler). However the thing leaks like crazy around the ball valve. I can't stop it. I have used several o-rings and different combinations of them but can't stop it. I even resorted to food grade silicone caulk on the outside around the ball valve without success. Any ideas of how to get this MLT working?

Thanks

I bought some rubberized gasket material from home depot in the plumbing section. I cut it to fit and made my own gaskets since I couldn't find the right ones. I used 3 or 4 of them on each side in my mash tun/ball valve setup. Cranked tight with pliers, it only dripped a tiny bit occasionally. Then I used some

Buttloads of it. Like 5-10 times around the threads. All better. That's what cured my heatstick too.
