I have a "barley crusher mill" and was considering motorizing it.
I have access to a compressor motor.

3/4 HP @ 1725 RPM
But it also says its "non reversible"

Any thoughts?

small 1"ish pulley on the motor, large 10"ish pulley on the grain mill to lower the rpms.

There are a bunch of threads on motorizing grain mills that will help you out.
I'm actually motorizing my monster mill mm2.0 tomorrow. I'm using a 3/4 hp motor from a garage door opener. I got a 1.5" pulley and a 12" pulley with a 45" 3L v-belt from grainger.com

Nice! Go with the 1.5" on the motor and 12" sheave on the mill. 3/4 hp will be more than enough power. I use a 1/4 hp on mine. I usually start it up then add the grain but a couple times I've loaded the grain then started the motor. So far it hasn't even hiccuped on me, so you'll shouldn't have any worries with a 3/4hp motor.

The price is pretty good... FREE

Thanks for all the suggestions.
