Default Hydraulic steel?

Are there any metal experts here?

Just was wondering what is "hydraulic steel" and if it is safe to use in the brewery. I am looking to buy this fitting:

Many thanks in advance!

That's a fitting for high pressure hydraulic hoses. Don't know what type of steel it is, but it's probably not stainless steel. The word "hydraulic" refers to the use, not the actual type of steel. The threads are British Standard Pipe Parallel.

Thanks ChuckO; however I wonder if "hydro" means "water", wouldn't it be stainless?

Read the description carefully, it says "carbon steel". The adapter is made for use in hydraulic fluid systems. It is not stainless.

Most hydraulic tubing/fittings that I come across working on aircraft are titanium, not stainless. Not sure if that helps but...

Thanks everyone - chances are it is not food-grade.

I better stick with tried-and-true stainless.
