I made a pair of tap handles from a retired climbing rope that I had.
Wood is a stained oak post thing that I got from Lowes, cut it apart to get the cap.
Threaded rod down the center which is wrapped with paracord a few times to increase thickness.
Rope is nailed to the base and then a nail driven into the rope every 1.25 coils to keep it from unraveling.
Cap is glued on.
Wood tapped to put onto faucet but you could use an insert.
The best way i found to cut the rope at an angle was to put it in a vice at the desired angle and then use a hot razor blade to cut it along the vice.
