Default Yeast Nutrient

I'm just wondering if I have been using a good yeast nutrient... I used Super Ferment...it recommends 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per gallon of wine, and 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of beer. Its this a good nutrient to use?
Should'nt you dissolve it before you add it to the must?
