Okay, so it's not technically about making wine, but... I just finished cutting up and putting away about 35 pounds of freshly killed venison. A friend of ours emailed this morning and said "If you want some fresh meat, come and get it, because it has to go today. Oh, and we loved the homemade wine you gave us for Christmas." So I took them some of my key lime wine and some spiced mead, and came home with a cooler full of meat!
Sometimes the fact that you can't sell homebrew is actually an advantage..
