Default Syrah

I asked my LHBS to order a Syrah kit for me recently.
It is now in the secondary, and I tasted a little bit.

wow.

It has been close to 10 years since I made a wine other than marionberry or mead.
This Syrah is going to be really good.

SHMBO is looking at me and saying you have six bubbling buckets and 4 secondaries i want my dining room back....

as she pours a glass of the porter she loves sooooo much...

Bah dining rooms are overrated. If only you could see the cases of bottles I have in my dining room right now....

What brand of kit? I've never made a kit, nor a syrah; might be interesting. Regards, GF.

It's a Selection International Series Australian Shiraz kit.
I am not opposed to using a quality kit. it can be a great time saver and the results can be quite good.

Quote:
Product Description:
Australian Shiraz: The grape that was made for Down Under - its hot climate is perfect for bringing out the best traits in this popular grape varietal. Australian Shiraz is seductively delicious, with startlingly rich, ripe aromas that deliver right through to the full zesty finish. Amazingly, the style allows for polished tannins early, so the young wine is not rough or harsh. The aged version retains the core fruit flavors of plums, cherries and blackberries, but gains extra polish.

This crowd-pleaser will complement full flavored red meats and stews.

Sweetness Dry; Oak: Heavy; Body: Medium-Full.
