Something Better than Cheesecloth ?
Is there something better than cheesecloth that I can use to filter some wine. I'm not looking to polish it crystal clear more than I am removing some leftover solids. I'm not looking for 1 micron or something crazy, just something to use other than cheesecloth. Any suggestions ?

Double or single layer of nylon panty hose, or you can use paint can straining bags from hardware store usually sits on five gallon bucket....or jelly type straining bags, also found at LHBS, fine, medium, course. (And eBay). Do not forget to clean/sanitize, no bleach products. Everything last pretty indefinitely except paint straining bags which last a few cycles unless rough on it.

I use flour sacks folded over once, for lots of solids, twice for a finer sieve. They are cheap at the local discount store (in housewares, by the kitchen towels)

Depending on the volume, coffee filters also work, but think about oxidation when doing this straining. It might be better to let it settle and rack off...
