Default Oops... Mr Beer and Mr Hot Water don't get along

So the primary on my raisin wine is a thrift store Mr Beer. Apparently Mr Beer will distort shape with boiling water. I guess I should have figured that one out. In the future I will have to plan for this and combine ingredients in a pot first.
Should I worry about chemicals leaching into my wine?
Scott

I'm sure it's made of food grade plastics, so you're probably fine. Let's see pictures though!

Why the boiling water?

Warmest I've ever used is less than 100 degrees, and that was only for rinsing out a wine kit bag.

Raisin wine requires boiling water, as does a few other recipes. I'm assuming the hot water helps dissolve sugar and other goodies. http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/reques97.asp
I managed to keep its shape pretty good by holding the top up until it cooled down, so it still looks like a Mr Beer, only more oval on the cross sections. Fortunately the spigot did not leak.
