Default New to the game

I got felt like brewing something other than beer....well along with my beer, I have felt the itch and adventurous lately and after starting a mead I felt like doing a wine. I have picked about 16 lbs of wild blackberries from my house and needless to say I think a blackberry wine could be fabulous, can anyone point me in the right direction or suggest a recipe to work from? Much thanks

I made a dry blackberry wine that I oaked just a bit. It's awesome at a year old, and I think it'll only get better.

Jack keller has a bunch of great recipes on his site: http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/blackbr2.asp

Lots of great info there!

Thanks for the heads up and pointing me in that direction, the varieties will keep me busy for awhile I am sure.

WTG Forrestgrover,

I was wanting to make wine for a long time too. Got all of the stuff but just hadn't done it. This year we had a huge crop of elderberries and guess what? I have five gallons in secondary. This is a really cool thing to do with bumper crops!
