Default Lookee what just came

Arrived today while I was sleeping. 30 gallons of brand new oak barrel. Looks like I'll be blending the Bordeaux this weekend.

Now that just looks like fun! What do you have to do to prepare it for wine?

You fill it with water and leave it in the bathtub until it stops leaking. It usually takes less than a day to get the new barrels swelled tight. If you have taken the wine out of one and had it empty for a while it's a bit more involved. I try at all costs to never leave a barrel empty cause it's a great way to spoil it.
