Default I think I got a good deal!

Just called a local winery. Friend told me that after their weekly wine tastings they sell the empty bottles for 2 bucks a case. I just called em and I have 4 cases reserved for this weekend.

Good idea on where to get wine bottles! I have thought about stopping by banquet halls to get champagne bottles as well.

recycling bins behind Italian restaurants, you need to ask and drop off a good bottle now and then

I just ask people at work.

I take them all home and inspect the ones I want to keep (trying to keep similar size and colors together) before soaking and de-labeling.

Odd sizes are kept if unique, too tall or thin walled are tossed.

I have over 100 (full) bottles of meads and ciders and another 60-80 waiting to be filled...(with 23 gals of meads and ciders still to bottle)...

I work at a bar and grill type restaurant, so once a week I just head into the bottle room and help myself to the bottles there. So far ive collected probably about 30 bottles for free. pretty awesome

I have collected over 1000 bottles this year from Italian restaurants, and most are similar bottles

Yea, I was thinking that's a good start.
My problem is where to store all of them in my apartment.
