Apfelwein NOOB

2368 + 5 = 2373

First time. Threw it together after diner last night. That was pretty easy. Now comes the hard part, waiting!

Read here that light won't hurt it, so trying to convince my SWMBO that it makes a nice conversation piece in the dining room. What do you think?

Thanks Ed!

Let's start the pool. My money's on 11/25/2007!

Here's a chart of Apfelwein gallons brewed just based on the posts in this thread. The red line is what has actually been brewed, and the black line is a projection for the next 365 days based on the info to date.

I went ahead and started my batch tonight as well.

My first AG recipe is Ed's Pale, which was done on Sunday. Now my first non-beer is his Apfelwine. My wife thinks I have a "Man-Crush".

So I guess that makes me #3363

Apfelwein Production Statistics

I scanned through this thread to generate some stats and a pretty graph. Right now we are adding 1000 gallons every 58 days and the average brew length is a little under 6 gallons. We should hit 10,000 gallons sometime in March 2009.

P

PS total still 7370

Here is updated chart of our trek to 10,000 gallons.

Elapsed time was about 1 year, 10.5 months.

Average production was 14.6 gallons/day.

Biggest producer was ???? (I don't have that much detail in the spreadsheet).

Very fitting that Ed was the one to hit 10K with the awesome drink!

This thread got started on January 24, 2007. I propose we celebrate it as
"Ed Wort's Apfelwine Day" and we all commit to brewing a batch in his honor.
It conveniently is a Saturday and I commit to filling my 14 gallon demijohn
with it on that day! Here is to Ed!
