Default How long does it take to fully carbonate apfelwein

Hey guys, bottled my first batch of apfelwein last week. I decided to pop one open and give it a taste test. Interestingly, there is almost zero carbonation in it. I know I added priming sugar, so that is not the problem.

Does it take longer than beer?

Thanks for any info!!!

Yes, it takes longer. As I recall it took about 6 weeks for mine to be fully carbed.

Mine usually takes about 3-4 weeks to achieve the perfect (IMHO) carbonation.

I used what's probably a bit too much concentrate, and at 2 weeks I was definitely over-carbed. It was on the warm side though.

Corn sugar, and I use 3/4th a cup for a 5 gallon batch, as per EdWort's original recipe.

I usually prime with juice and it is fully carbed in a month.
