Im wanting to make some lilac wine but not sure how to measure the flowers? The recipe calls for 3.5 quarts and Im confused

Joe's comment sounds right but it just seems odd. That'd be like asking for 3/4 cup of hops for making beer. Going by weight would be more appropriate!
