Default Finished Apelwein Color

This is the result of 5 weeks of fermenting. This is my first time making cider and tasting the recipe so I'm not exactly sure what it should taste like...

It looks like white wine. It is very dry with no aftertaste. A bit "wattery" compared to a white wine but I expect that since the APV is less than wine. The apple is there but it is very subtle. Tastes good but different from what I expected. Gravity is at 1. I keep my house at 60 during the day and 56-58 at night.

Recipe I used:
5 gallons of apple juice
2 lbs of dextrose
Red Star champagne yeast

Any opinions concerning appearance?

Interesting your recipe looks more golden in color. What I ended up with looks like white wine.

I think some of that is from sitting on the table. Is yours a little cloudy?

if you want more apple flavor you can add a can of apple concentrate to your keg or bottling bucket
