I am buying the following kit:

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/chocolate-raspberry-port-pre-order-109-99.html

My thoughts were that this should be something that can age a long amount of time, am I wrong in this assumption. Otherwise is it something I should do more of a mead, a friend is having a baby thought I would make a batch and be kind of cool to open up a bottle on year 1, 2, 3 etc.

In process of making 7 gal of a Blackberry Port and plan to let mine age at least one year..perhaps two....

I've made 3 chocolate raspberry port kits and they never lasted longer than 6 months....once you taste it you'll understand why. I've also done the white chocolate port, orange chocolate port and apple tatin port....delicious ! If you plan on aging you'll need to use #9 corks and I'd give it a little more fortifying with some Everclear.

Fortified with a good Brandy
The
Choc port is great for aging it will peak around 2 years live well for another 2 and
Decline by around 6 years
