Default recirculating BIAB where to put my probe

I was wondering where is the best place to put the pt100 probe in a recirculating BIAB setup.
I notice the high gravity setup has theres on the lid as the wort returns but I wonder if this runs the risk of if you get a lack of flow the probe would keep raising the temp as the wort doesnt increase in temp.
if the probe was under the bag this would avoid the possibility of this happening but is there a reason high gravity dont do this?

On my eBIAB my probe is in the kettle about a 1/4 way up from the bottom. I don't like this placement very much because it is too close to my element, and leads to a lot of measurement fluctuations. I am thinking about putting a tee on the inlet of my recirculating arm, so that I can measure the temperature of the wort as it is returning to the kettle. My thought is that this will help to smooth out measurements enough that my PID won't cycle as much.

Well, I am an armchair recirculator (no pump as yet), but what I've been reading leans toward having the temp probe at the pump outlet. Handsonbrewing.com describes why that's the preferred location better than I ever could. (Several paragraphs down, starting with "The more I thought about it...") He's talking about a 3 vessel system with a standalone HERMS unit, but the reasoning behind thermo probe placement is sound for your application, too.

I have no experience with electric so take my advice knowing that, but if you do full volume and have a fairly quick recirculation I would use the same probe you have attached to the kettle, temp loss from the recirculation would be minimal. I run PID controlled direct fire and it might only kick on 5 times during a 60 minute mash... plus the further you put the probe from your heat source the less control you seem for have over it...

I use a cheap waterproof RTD and stick it right in the middle of the mash for recirculating eBIAB.
As long as the temp delta from your probe location and the "average" mash temp is known, the location of the probe isn't critical.
