Default Headed to Austin

So, I'm headed to Austin, TX next week for a week long conference. Any suggestions for good pubs? (I'll be staying on UT campus with no transportation other than my feet)

The Ginger Man's got a pretty epic tap list, you should really check it out. It's worth the walk.

Looks like the Ginger Man's going to be my best bet. Thanks for the advice! Next time I go on a trip, I'll have to convince my boss to let me get a rental car......

the above pic of the gingerman is the old address, but the new address is right across the street, so its not that bad. the draught house is the best brew pub and is not that far away from campus (15 blocks... about as far as gingerman from campus). easy cab ride.

Gingerman is really good. There's a nice place to sit outside if you get there early enough. I'd also make sure to try the local brews. Real Ale, 512, etc.

OMG, yes! I totally miss Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye, Live Oak Hefe Weizen, and (512) Pecan Porter.

Uncle Billy's is a great place for a kellerbier and brisket in the afternoon, but at night my spot was usually Lovejoy's.

For a great burger and decent beers, hit Billy's on Burnet

+1 for draught house.
