The are a few of us Coloradans here and I'd like to suggest we get together for a gathering of HBTrs.
Folks from other regions have them all the time and I'm tired of being left out of all the fun! It seems like every time I turn around there is a gathering somewhere.

So what do you say Colorado? How about we get together for our own event. Let's make the rest of the country envious that we can have so much fun! Maybe we could go to the Falling Rock and kind of a LoDo pub crawl? I'm not the best organizer in the world but I'd love to get something going if there is enough interest.
Thoughts? Ideas?

I could be persuaded...

A brew-together might be fun, too, especially since warmer temps are on the way one of these days. How about 'Stone Beer'? Get some people to volunteer to bring various ingredients, then combine to make a tasty brew.

Yep, I'm in, as long as there is ample access to public transportation to/from Bo-town! Maybe we can wait until ski season slows down though, that sort of eats my weekends.

Why don't we plan something for May time frame? Maybe we could do a brew together like jds said and do a pub crawl. Maybe on 2 different days? I like the idea of a Stone brew. We could all chip in on the base malt/ extract and then everyone bring what they want for hops and specialty grains.
What do you think guys?

That would be cool, but would mean we'd have to get together again a couple months down the line to drink said brew (not that that's a bad thing ;) )

See! Now we are coming up with a plan! :mug:

May sounds good to me

I could make a May date. Locations, everybody? I'm in Northwest Littleton, around Hampden/C-470.

I live in Aurora about 3 miles east of the Brew Hut. I'd be more than happy to commute or to have a brew party here at the house.
I say we should also get together at the falling rock to hoist a few unless someone knows of a better place to meet.

I'd be willing to go East for a meet-up. After my last trip to TBH, I think I'll probably be getting most of my supplies there anyhow. Are the beers at the connected pub any good?

I have tried some darn good beers at the Dry Dock. Definitely worth a visit!

I'm in too... as long as you welcome non-paying members ;) (i'm spread thin on a lot of brew boards so haven't made HBT my primary board - but having a local community could easily change that!).

Well, we will let you in but if you don't pay up by the end of our first get together we will have to take a pinky! :D

I propose we do a meet and great for our first get to together. Of course I suggested the falling rock in LoDo but I'm open to other ideas.

May was brought up as a good month. I'll throw out the 16th, 17th, or 18th. (Friday Saturday or Sunday) I would prefer a Saturday or Sunday but I'm flexible.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Oh, and in the tradition of HBT, we need a name for our group.

The Mile High club???

I would be very interested in meeting some other home brewers. A meet and greet sounds good.

My work schedule is kind of crazy, so its had to exactly when I'm available, but May looks good so far.

Rich:

may 16-18 would work fine for me too. I'd prefer during the day on Saturday or Sunday. I just checked schedules, and the Rox are playing home games all weekend (against the Twins). We may want to plan a 'pub day' starting right around first pitch time, since most of the LoDo pubs get pretty crowded before the game.

My $.02, anyhow.

And Welcome, BeavBrew!

sorry for the delay...just finished moving into the area and unpacking...I'm game for good beer and meeting people.

Still sounds like fun, but I may get aced out of a May date, depending on the weekend. Some work stuff came up, and I'll quite probably be occupying the company condominium.
In Honolulu.
On Waikiki Beach.

You know how it is. Work has to come first. :)

I live next door in Nebraska so we're almost neighbors and we have a company location in Commerce City so I'm there occasionally. I looked at my calendar and it looks like I'll miss the get together by a week. I'll be in Denver May 9-13. Saturday night, after business is complete, the wife and I are staying downtown and I can walk to Falling Rock, Wynkoop, Flying Dog, Great Divide etc.

That weekend (May 9-10) works out better for me, anyway.

I'll be in Columbia, MO the next weekend, moving my daughter out of Mizzou for the summer.

Please let me know if any of you want to meet up at Falling Rock May 9 or 10.

summersolstice,
Flying Dog has moved their operation to Frederick, MD. No more pub in LoDo.

Now that you mention it, seems I did read that. Oh, well - it's not like I can't get enough at Falling Rock. If you can generate any interest for a beer there on the 10th, pm me.

Is there anyone interested in getting together today at Falling Rock?

I can grab the light rail to Union Station and meet up late afternoon/early evening. The wife has given her blessing for an evening out with "the boys" :tank:

I hope this worked out, even tho' I couldn't be in town for it.

Waikiki is beautiful right now.

Things I've learnt on Oahu lately:

(1) Skip the Hard Rock Cafe. Bad music, OK food, and abysmal service.
(2) Don't skip the Brew Moon brewpub in the Ward center in Honolulu. Good beer, great food, good service.
(3) Forget buying beer on the beach. $7 BMC. The local Safeways have good beer at good prices, and there's a fridge in the condo.

Aloha, CO HBT'ers.

Sorry guys I've dropped the ball on this one. I've got issues going on right now in my life and I haven't been thinking about a get together at all. We need to make this happen!
