Default "Prost" ratings next to thread titles; also, "Skunk This Thread"?

So we've got this "Digg this" kind of system up and running with the "Prost This Thread" idea. It's a good start, IMHO, but I just had a couple thoughts:

First, I rarely go to the front page, and spend most of my time just clicking the "new posts" button. I know plenty of other members do the same thing. So right now, the "top prosted" lists on the front page don't get seen too much by my eyes. What would really help was if there were a prost rating, sort of like the "rate this thread", but integrated into the prost thing that would show up next to the thread title.

Second, if you have "prost this thread" button, why not also have a "skunk this thread" button too, which would be the opposite?

Agreed. As of now the Prosting is pretty much useless for me. I live in New Posts...

I see what you're going for Evan! and at face value it seems logical, however....

I think the skunk idea just draws people to a thread that in most cases already has way too much mob rule bashing.

Skunky threads should just die of their own accord and not be artificially bumped up in any list.

Ah, then at least let me skunk individual members. Egads, can you imagine how cool an HBT Karma system would be!?

Isn't that what your Douchie Award is all about?

I think this is a good idea. Would be nice if the prost rating showed up next to the 'prost' button as well - so you could see it while you were reading the thread - and if the 'prost' button got grayed out if you'd already clicked it for that particular thread... Essentially just like digg does it.

Both of those are nonsense if you ask me.

Seems like somone will inevidently pull some Mods chain the wrong way and warnings will be forthcoming.

History indicates 1 ahwsh1t cancels out 100 attaboys...

Nonsense...why? I can be talked out of the "skunk" button idea, but having the prost rating next to the thread title?

BTW, I was being sarcasting regarding the karma system. That's the LAST thing HBT needs.
