Default pictures allowed in signature?

I was wondering if there was a way to have a picture for my signature. All of the other forums I belong to have this option available. Why not here? Just curious.

It would make page load times to long it if we allowed it.

I'm looking at options though to clear up some of that burden on the servers.

To be clear if we were substantially smaller it would not be an issue, that is not the case though.

Please don't do anything to make the sigs larger than they already are. Many are ridiculous. Thanks.

Yes, I agree!

We have a "rule of thumb" that if you type a one line post, that the room you take up should only be as big as that taken up by your avatar, recipe, etc. stuff on the left.

There was one guy that had a signature that must have been like 50 lines long, and I asked him to shorten and he did. If you see an out-of-control signature, maybe point it out to one of the mods or gently tell the person (as I did) that I'm using a netbook and I have to scroll just to get through his signature and can't read any posts with a signature like that. He was very acommodating. Of course, I do have a whip most of the time.

I would say as long as it is not longer then say double your avatar size then that would work fine. Like Yooper said, I would hate to have to scroll through all the pictures. Let alone that there would only be like 3 posts per page.
