Default beerforum contact

Recieved this spam from another beer forum, looks like they are impersinating homebrewtalk...

from: helpdesk@homebrewtalk.com

Arkador,
We at HomeBrewTalk are excited to announce the launch of a companion site dedicated to the discussion of craft and commercial beer, breweries and brewpubs.

It’s fully supported by all Apple and Android products as well.

Look forward to having you sign up and join in on the discussions!
http://www.beerforum.com/

Thanks!

Is this a operated by homebrewtalk, or are they just spamming your members? if it is, isn't it a bit inappropriate to advertise your other services to your members?

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like the administrator on that board is TxBrew. Maybe our TxBrew can chime in to let us know if its really him?

I don't mind the admins here letting us know about other relevant projects. An official announcement in the forums from TxBrew would be more appropriate.

I just got it too. If it is another forum and admin, they have done a damn good job of cloning HBT!

I believe there's a setting in your profile where you can unclick the option of receiving e-mails from Admin.

It is me. I'm sending out email contacts to forum members to let them know about the new community.

It's focus is commercial beer and I invite you all to check it out.

If you want to opt out of email contacts please feel free to do that. Everyone has that option upon sign up and at any point while using the forum.

You can also go here and turn them off if you so choose.

Please note, this will keep you from receiving contacts from me including information on giveaways and community related contacts.
