Looks like we are going to Ogunquit this summer for a week. Is there anything in the area that I can't miss? I loved Alpine slides as a kid and I can't find any near where I live now, I saw there is one about 2 hours north but not sure if we will have time.

I am also looking for brewerys to check out. What are the good ones and not so good ones? What do you like/dislike about them?

Make sure to hit Great Lost Bear in Portland -lots on taps and always a few cask ales as well. Another must see is Gritty McDuff's in the Old Port section of Portland. Their best brown and black fly stout are great. Enjoy.

Great Lost Bear is very nice. I wasn't impressed with Federal Jacks and Run of the Mill is pretty much as its name says.... very meh.

Portsmouth, however, is great. Also, Allagash Brewery is right outside of Portland and definitely worth a visit.

I'll second getting to a Gritty McDuff's location... I went to the location in Freeport last summer (July, was for the post user group event)... Solid brews, and they brew on location. That was before I started home brewing, but was also a decent sized portion of what got me into it. About 4 months later, I was starting my first batch...

Getting off the brew stuff for things to see/do are going to Perkins Cove and walking the marginal way. For local eats I highly recommend the Post Road Tavern on RT 1. Very subdued locals place with great food and some fine brews on tap and bottle. There is a local microbrew place on RT 1 in Wells called Boon Island Ales. Never got the chance to stop in though. Yes the water is f%^&ng cold but it is nice on a hot summer day.
