Default Bars in Miami?

I'll be there this weekend. Can anyone suggest a place that is laid back and serves good beer?

I have a friend there that tells me no good beer bars. Go get a Mojito. A real one muddled with cane.

Oh well. Its a short visit. Sounds like I better trade my beer in for a drug mule.

There is a restaurant called Hops near "The Falls" on US1, they brew their own. There is also a place in Brickell, called Gordon Biersch. GB is really nice, great to go for happy hour and early evening. Live shows, great food, awesome beer, even better ladies, nice area since its Brickell near the Bay..

Not really any beer bars though, maybe that will change.. Miami is a pretty diverse town and you have pretty much everything from a bunch of mom and pops to a walmart every zip code. So if there is a nice beer bar 10-15 miles away I wouldn't know about it. Check out Downtown, their revamping that whole area..

I suggest heading out to the beach at night, South Beach mainly.
