Default Atlanta / buckhead GA breweries

Guys,

I'm headed to Atlanta next week, any thoughts on places (breweries, pubs, excellent food) I might take a friend visiting from overseas?

5 Seasons is a brewpub with a wide selection of in-house brews and good food. There are several of those around town. Vortex and Tap both have great burgers and a good beer selection. Taco Mac is a must-see, though. There are a bunch around, and each one has a ton of beers available. Vortex food is much better, but you can't top Taco Mac for beer.

Two true breweries close to Midtown and Buckhead -> Sweetwater and Red Brick Brewery. Both do afternoon brew Sweetwater usually has a bigger selection, and recently expanded.

For brew pubs, 5 seasons on Marietta St is great. Food is incredible. Their nut brown ale is amazing. They also offer cask conditioned beers in 750 ml wine bottles, perfect for splitting with friends.

Check out hop city next door to 5 seasons and grab a growler or 6 pack of something hard to find. That's our LHBS around here and it kicks ass!

If in Atlanta, one must go to the Brick Store Pub. Go upstairs to the Belgian Bar.

+1 on The Brick Store in Decatur...

Taco Mac's generally have around 100 beers on tap (depending on location) with an occasional rarity on tap...

5 Seasons is the best bet for local brewpubs, but if you check out The Brick Store, check out Twain's while you are close... Good beers on their menu as well... There is also The Wrecking Bar, but I haven't been there yet...

Sweetwater and Red Brick / Atlanta Brewing are the closest breweries... Also have a new upstart, Red Hare that is a little farther out... Very small (Think 20bbl system & 3 fermenters), but good people... Their Watership Brown is nice...

X2, there's also Red Hare Brewery off Delk rd. For brew pubs and pubs besides Brick Store there's two right next to each other 5 Seasons (their brewer was our old brewer) and right next to it is Taco Mac, but don't go in the restaurant go around to the basement called The Fred, awesome beer bar. These are at the Prado off of Roswell Rd.

Make sure you try some Monday Night Brewing beers when you are here. They are homebrewers recently turned pro and are making some great beer. Right now they have an IPA and a Scotch Ale on tap around the area.
