Poll 2nd Annual HBT BJCP Homebrew Contest
|
|
So I wanted to sample the interest in a second annual HBT BJCP sanctioned Homebrew contest. For those of you who weren't around last year, HBT sponsored a sanctioned and really well done homebrew contest. They accepted 300 entries!! I thought it was a blast. There was friendly smack talkin, some great prizes, great written feedback from BJCP judges, and all winning recipes got posted so you could strut your winning recipes. Here is the main contest thread from last year.
http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f20/hbt-bjcp-contest-124871/
I sampled the interest a bit in the secret member chat, and it seems there is a possibility of a repeat contest this year if there is sufficient interest. Now the contest definitely involved a lot of work and coordination on the part of a few HBT members and admin, so I understand the requirement for a high level of interest for sure.
Here is how I see it. I love brewing and beer. I get around quite a bit on the net, and through my local home brew club. Still, to me HBT is my go to homebrew place. Here you find some of the most creative and passionate homebrewers, who happily share information, recipes, and all manner of wisdom and entertainment. HBT is just made up of wonderful people, and to me is the best resource and community out there, and that is not to demean any of the other wonderful resources out there. just my opinion.
So being the biggest, and the best; and if the powers that be are willing, I think the HBT competition should be an annual event. Morebeer, whom is a wonderful retailer, does an annual event. Surely the largest and best online brewing community should have one. Surely ours should be bigger and better. Don't you think?
If you are interested in a possible second round of the HBT BJCP sanctioned Homebrew contest, take a minute to vote in the poll. If you were in it last year as I was, be sure to let HBT know what a great job they did. Let's make this happen again!!
Cheers!
Brian

Wow I totally missed this thread and the one in the secret chat...
I am 100% in if there's another.
I really appreciate all the hard work everyone did on the last one, and would gladly look forward to another. I'd be willing to help out as well, although I'm not sure exactly how much help I could be.

What are the requirements? I participated last year but I'm no longer a Premium Supporter. Can't see any secret/private/hidden places.
