I am always changing my recipes. The ones I entered this time all came from Jamil's book or CYBI shows with some changes. All first time tries.

Dang man, starting to lay the foundations for your excuses a little early aren't you? If you don't want feedback from "strangers" and think attempting to win is "shameful", why did you enter?

Just got back as well. I came to the realization a while back that smart people don't pay as much in life overall as let say not so smart people . Today just affirmed that. Because I wasn't paying attention to the calendar, I had to pay $39.00 for what should have cost me at most 9.00 to ship my 2 bottles. Oh well, atleast I know they will get there on time. Good luck everyone, except those medal whore people I'm hearing about.

Maybe there's a connection to the dumb mistakes we make and how much beer we drink here.

I think that is a very strong possiblity! However, I'm sticking with Cliff Claven's Buffalo Theory on my own level of intelligence.

Interestingly enough, both of my entries are SMaSH beers. Not by design, really. Just that how else can you make a BoPils? Pilsner malt. Saaz hops. Triple decoction. Pretty simple, really. Hopefully, it scores well. I'm new to pilsners.

I may be doing some lagers in next years' comp. I might have a line on a two-chambered fermentation cooler next week.

Yes - sounds really simple. I mean, those single infusion, single batch sparge batches are just soooooo difficult!
