Getting ready for the HBT Homebrew competition. For all of you in my category.....watch out. JK. Just took it out of the secondary into the keg. Should be carbed in enough time that if I want to change something about this one, I have the time. Homebrewing is all about planning!

Entry will be open until March 12 (or until we get full, but that's a long way away).

HOWEVER, I want everybody to know that I will not be able to enter/register/reply to anybody from Thursday evening (Jan 27) through Monday (Jan 31). I will be busy moving to our "winter quarters". When I get settled on Monday-ish, I will definitely reopen registration.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hahaha- I know I told everybody "you can't change!" but as long as it's doable for me, I will help you guys out. Once the labels are made, and the paperwork is finished, I can't allow any more changes at all. I know it's hard when you register early to know for sure if the beer is competition worthy, so it's ok to change if you guys need to.

I have one beer I'm considering myself. I entered it, but I have no idea how it'll be on March 12 when I package it to send! It's lagering now, and all signs point to a great beer. It'll either be great, or suck. I do NOT want to read my scoresheets about the sucktitude, that's for sure.

i've been down that road. i had a beer that was great, so i bottled a few from the keg and sent it to a comp.

few weeks went by and i realized that the beer was stale-ing quickly for some reason that i've never figured out. anyway, got my scorecards back.....not good.

Once I enter Orphy's Mild I will have 4 beers entered, only one of them is finished and outside the "green" stage. The other three will be a complete toss up.

I love the suspense!

I entered six. One is past it's prime. One is peaking. Two are bowing off. One is in lag phase. The other still needs to be brewed.

I have three entered right now, all are fabulous, and worthy of several medals each just for being so good, if you tried one of my beers, you would cut off one of your thumbs with a hammer just to have another pint. this is one reason I keep the tools away from my bar, besides, mopping up gets old, and having to dispose of all the thumbs.....
