Its the family party, not the drink your face off party. This one is 11:00-3:00. It is like arts and crafts, lunch and santa stuff.

Yo... what's up guys. I'm seeing a lot of locals for me here. I'm in Landenberg, PA (near avondale/west grove).
Do you guys only meet up to brew? I'm trying to picture a dozen guys all brewing beer simultaneously, and that sounds nutty to me. Now, a dozen guys just drinking, that sounds more do-able.
Do you guys do this often? I'm newish to the forum and just now noticed this thread... I was looking for a homebrew group to just chill with occasionally, but I don't think I'd be into a group-brew. I don't have any of the nice equipment you guys tout, I'm working with the ale-pale and a 5gal brew pot.. pretty basic. Soo I guess I don't feel like I'd have much to contribute. Glad to find some locals, at least...
cheers

Al, I'm making a couple minor changes to the mint stout recipe before picking up ingredients next week.
The original recipe was an OG of 1.065, placing it in Foreign Extra style parameters. To save some money, I was thinking of just making this a dry stout around 1.048-1.050. I'll adjust bittering additions as well to match the OG/BU ratio.
If you're really set on the original recipe, we can stick with it. I'm just brainstorming some adjustments to make it more sessionable.

Marz: Everyone sets up their own equipment and brews their own. Usually since we all have 10g capable systems, we pair up with another person, but there's usually at least 5 burners going. We have people who do extract, and people who just come to drink and hang out and don't even homebrew (at home or with us).
It's a good time. If you don't want to brew right away, just come hang out. If you want to brew, fine. If you want to split a batch with someone else...just post and see if anyone is willing to do a batch with you. It's probably late to do that now, seeing as how we're barely a week away - but you never know.
We also fire the hookah on occasion

I can't remember. Did I agree to split with anyone?

Thanks for the run-down, guys. Ya'll sound like a good bunch. If it would be okay, I'd like to possibly come hang with you guys to at least observe the brewing.
I have a few things in bottles that would be ready to drink.. I'm interested to see if the beer I'm making is up-to-par with those more experienced than myself.
I'll keep up with this thread and if I can break away from the family on the 11th (and if you guys don't mind the extra body), I'll be there!
cheers
