Default Brewing Competitions

Just wondering if anyone knew of any US or world renowned mail in homebrew competitions coming up in the near future. I was looking at a bunch and most seemed to be held by local brew clubs. Any info at all would be most appreciated.

Just because a comp is being held/judged by a local club doesn't mean you can't enter. Here's a link to a list of AHA Sanctioned events:

Remember, someone somewhere has to host and judge. 99% of the time that's going to be a local club.

Yup, I mean even the AHA nationals first round is regional and "low rent". I think brewing street cred is gained over time and not necessarily at one comp... unless you get 23 beers into the AHA finals like JZ.

Most national events are multi-tiered, you don't enter them directly.

I gotcha. My buds and I have been busting out great brew after great brew, at least we think they're great, and just want to see how these "great brews" hold up against others on a larger scale. Thanks for all the input guys.

If you think they're great, that's all that matters. Who cares what anyone else thinks?????

Well, we are trying to eventually open a brewpub/restaurant so we are just trying to see if others enjoy our brews as much as we do. Possibly trying to get a few comps under our belts to see what it takes to be part of the big boys.
