Default Anyone been to SAVOR??

I got an email about it today and it looks fun. My wife is not really a beer person, but she likes good food and has always wanted to go to DC. (I've drove past and have no interest in going back. Drivers are AWFUL over there!)

So we are going to look at getting tickets this year and make it a vacation and see some sights.

Anyone got any inside tips??

Default Savor

Went last year with my son who took me as a Father's Day gift. It sold out the first 2 years in like 10 minutes and was only 1 nite. Its pretty cool although some of the lines were long, especially for the oysters (which we never got to), but the beer was good and so were the finger food pairings. More food than beer if I remember correctly. The really good beer kicked well before the other so so craft beers. All in all, we still plan on attending again.

You can always metro or taxi to other good spots in DC or close in Arlington after the show ends.

Cheers.

Definitely be ready to buy tickets immediately when they go on sale. I've tried to go the past 3 years and haven't been able to get tickets because I looked later on in the day.

She saw the price and now says I'd probably have to go by myself. Then follows that up with, she'd still rather go on a cruise...

Oh, yeah... THAT'S going to be cheaper!

I don't think I'm going to get to do this. It would be fun, but it's kind of late to plan out a whole vacation around the DC area and attending this.

But the wife seems open to going to Founders Black Party in April, if we can book a hotel. She likes The Black Crowes, and Founders' house band is performing their album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.

FYI - It's all about their Black Beers, and they hint that there is going to be a few SPECIAL tappings along with the usual gang of suspects at this event.

The wife and I went last year. We are going again this year (Sat.). Last year I missed the AHA member alotment (too slow to decide) but sat at my computer for the general public sale and got our tickets then. I assume if someone wanted more than their 4 allowed as an AHA member, they could get additional ones then.
