I would suggest anybody that is thinking of entering to do so early. Registration just opened today at 9:00 central time, and as of 2:00 there are already 204 entries registered.

This is one of the largest and best run competitions in the Midwest.

UPS Is probably what most people use. FedEX would work also. It is against the law to ship beer via USPS.

I ship to friends via UPS and have not had a problem. The only competitions that I have entered have had local drop off locations.

Thanks for the positive words. We take pride in running a well-respected competition, and it's become an event many people look forward to being a part of each year.

However... it can't be done without enough qualified individuals. We are always looking for more qualified judges. The better the judging pool, the better the feedback people get and the smoother the competition runs.

Good luck to all who enter and thanks to those who volunteer!

Yes, you will receive correspondence from the Judge Coordinator when all assignments have been created. Unfortunately it wont be for a while, as registration is still open for several more days, plus it takes a fair amount of time to create the assignments, as they constantly change as judges continue to sign up, even drop out.

Keep in mind that judge assignments are filled with the most qualified judges first, then backfilled with judges in training, apprentices, provisional, etc.. If we can't find spots for new judges to fill, then we'll see what can be done about Stewarding and whatever else. But for now, I would plan on being a judge but having to sit tight for an assignment. Thanks for volunteering!

Well yes a "provisional" judge which is no big deal. Its really hard to find a tasting test that doesn't fill by the brew club that hosts it as soon as it opens.
