Zindane's 'off the ball' incident with Materazzi was a disgrace. Not a fitting way to end his International Career (if it is the end!). Shame on him.

I totally agree. That was the worst foul I have EVER seen.

The worst part (and he's going to have to come to grips with it) is that his presence might have made a difference in the outcome of the penalty kicks that ended the game. France missed one (Italy did NOT block it, France just missed it). Things might have been different if he hadn't acted like a child and gotten the red card.

His behavior was unfathomable! He was one of the most popular guys in this tournament, one of the best stories, and one of the great players actually living up to his reputation. There were fans all over the world pulling for France in this game simply for Zidane. That has to be the worst 'retirement game' a professional athlete has ever played.
