Default Where do you see our/your Country in 25 years?

Let me start off by saying, I did not start this thread to discuss our Government, or our Politics.

I wrote our/your in the title, because its pretty obvious that not everyone is from the same nation. So what do you guys think? What do you think will be different in another 25 years?

All the nations will come together, make first contact with an alien race, develop warp drive technology, and establish a Federation of Planets.

Or we'll be a fire ball that some distance planet says "OO..look! A Shooting Star"

Seriuosly, hard to not make this politcal so I abstain.

A small percentage of the population will control most of the resources and the rest of us will be mostly left to do as we please as long as we don't do anything that gets in the way of those in power keeping and growing their power/wealth base.

technology will progress and we will all be working 24/7 as the technology will make work 100% integrated with life. The real challenge will be setting aside time to focus on the important things.. like brewing

predictions: within 10 years: there will be a quantum based communication device on the market (communication via entangled particles -not just quantum encryption)
There will be a large movement in the USA to finally do something about our movement toward a police state.. this will either end the war on drugs and reduce the power of the police state or it will establish a long term near fascist police state in the USA.
China will become the dominant economy. The USA will engage in trade wars to try and hold onto economic dominance. The dollar will continue to be a dominant currency because China has so much of it's wealth tied up in dollars. The US/China economic block will act to keep the world economy rolling along just enough to keep them from losing power.. plenty of bread and circuses.

I think I need to relax and have a brew.

I can't foresee where the country will be in 25 years, but I have a vision of where this thread will be very soon!

(Putting a disclaimer in about not wanting to discuss Politics or Government is not going to stop people from posting on a topic which IS ABOUT GOVERNMENT OR POLITICS!)

Where will America be? I think that the continental shifts will speed up at an amazing rate, and America will be 2 miles south of what is now the middle east. There will be an uncomfortable silence for a few years until somebody lets out an accidental fart and we all start laughing about it.

Interesting...just saw this video and it kinda relates, more towards the workforce, but interesting none the less. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4126233n%3fsource=search_video

I agree that unfortunately, in 25 years, technology will be 100% integrated and that you will be required to be available 24/7. I love technology...but at the same time, I hate it.

Well I had to say it because the warning for the ''General Chit Chat'' section warns against any political discussion. Had to cover myself. I know its hard to avoid politics in a discussion like this, but I was hoping we could try.

To many factors to predict what the country will be like in 25 years. I however plan on being retired sitting in the shade of my deck, looking at deer in the field behind my house, talking with friends about where to spend the winter months, and enjoying a home brew.

I know it's along shot but hopefully distilling will be legal and I'll be drunk on home made scotch and almost retired.

Hey guys,

I just asked for this thread to be closed. I thought we could avoid politics and all that, but I guess I should have known that it would end up on the subject. It's my fault for starting a thread like this one, I suppose its something I should have seen coming.
