Web Page Software
|
|
Is there any open source, insanely easy to use software for web page design?
I don't need anything sophisticated, it is not for commerce and no more than a handful people will ever see it. I just need to put up a few paragraphs of text, some pics and a calender.
thanks

If it's really that basic, you could do it with MS Word and save as HTML.

You could also go to wordpress.com and build a free online blog with hosting and all...

Drupal is open source website software.
I like the idea of using the free blogging sites, like blogspot. That might fit your need.

Ever try Frontpage? Not the greatest, but it works. If it isn't what you want, let me know and I'll help you out. I'm a software/web developer by trade and have the tools at home to do what you want.

If it's super super basic, why not go to w3schools.com and learn some basic HTML.

wordpress is probably the best and easiest, with tons of online support and free themes. most of the popular web hosting companies also provide a free install of it.

Wordpress. I have built numerous websites based on Wordpress, and it is fairly simple to use. There is a slight learning curve, but once you master it, you can do a lot with it. Here are a few examples of sites I've built on Wordpress:
