Just recently switched over from cable to U-verse. I am very satisfied. With my cable, my OnDemand was 50/50 at best, there were long delays when scrolling through the guide, switching channels, fast forwarding and rewinding etc, I only had DVR and HD in one room and I would regularly get a digitized signal. With U-verse, my OnDemand works every time and works well. There are very little delays. I have whole house DVR and HD on all HD capable TV's and the signal is great. Plus, the DVR works awesome, the fast forwarding works way better than it did with my cable.
The biggest downfalls I have noticed so far is that the remote is laid out a little funny. I am constantly hitting the wrong buttons. I am sure that will change as I get used to it though. Also, when viewing the guide, the time doesn't change over until exactly that time. Say for example, I watch a show at 6:30. No show ends right at 7:00, it is going to end a few minutes before that. With my cable, it was smart enough to know that if I was viewing my guide at 6:58, I was interested in the 7:00 showing times. With U-verse it doesn't switch over until exactly 7:00. That is the only complaints I have. I have the same speed internet, and it is actually faster because there is no lag due to area usage, and the phone is fine. I don't use the house phone, it is just there for the alarm system.

I work for AT&T, but seriously I think its a great product. I hate those commercials from Time Warner trash talking Uverse saying that Internet speeds will dwindle cuz of it. It doesnt work that way, your TV and DSL speeds are allocated out. So much is used for TV and so much for DSL and CVOIP. Your tv usage isnt going to interfere with your DSL speeds.

Any chance you could tell them to fix the guide thing where it doesn't switch over until the exact time

One limitation to consider if you have many HDTV's. You can receive only 2 different live HD feeds into your house at one time. If you have 3 HDTVs on at the same time you cannot watch, or record, 3 different HD channels.

There are human factors groups that test stuff like this. It's funny you mention this, cuz I feel opposite of you. I hate when I click on timewarner guide and if it jumps ahead to the next hour, when I want to see what's on now.

HA! How 'bout that. I'm not criticizing by any means, just curious, but why would you care what is on "now" if it is like 2-3 minutes to the hour and what is on "now" is over?

I switched from WOW! to U-verse about three months ago. Its really cool, has tons of HD channels, records up to 4 shows at a time, huge hard drive, can schedule recording to add extra time at end of show. I really like it but there are some problems. Here are the things I hate: can only record 2 HD channels at a time, remote is weird, in guide the channels are light blue and when you scrollover them they are just a bit darker blue (really hard to see what channel your selecting), can only FF/REW live tv from main DVR, must have a box AT EVERY TV for it to work (boxes cost $7 per month).

I had Comcast, and would NEVER go back to them ! What I'm trying to find out is if U-Verse is significantly better than satelite, other than the fact that I won't lose my signal EVERY $%#@*ing time it rains.

Well for Time warner, it switches to the next hour like at 40 after or 45 after.
