i'd like to agree. i prefer not to swear, but **** a bunch of lucas. I grew up on star wars. i've grown to learn to dislike everything he has ever done to it since. there is a version of 1 through 6 coming out soon that are revamped a la fansub-style. if you know what a torrent is, check it out.

I <3 4, 5, and 6. lucas is a massive joke. disney is only going to make this worse.

now if pixar hadn't ever been purchased by disney, and PIXAR were to buy the rights....then we're talkin' good stuff.

Disney has been a _lot_ better since John Lasseter (formerly head of Pixar) became Chief Creative Officer. Compare Tangled (the Rapunzel movie) to the straight to DVD stuff they were putting out several years back. If you were a fan of Jar-Jar-Binks and think that is the height of creativity, I suppose that having Disney buy Lucasfilms is bad. But I thought that everything but the first 3 movies stank. With Lasseter in charge, I have some hope that Star Wars will have some quality returned.

I'm betting Tim Burton will direct Johnny Depp as Jedi Master Sparrow

It is a feeling of betrayal, unfortunately. I'm embarrassed to say that I was so in love with the first Star Wars movies (episodes 4-6) that the resulting crapola with jarjar is an absolute betrayal.
F()ck George. He looks so bored and Gay. (please pardon me, this my inner child who doesn't yet know the actual meaning of "gay")
With his "I'm a rich ugly guy" gotee and his ex-nerd chip on his shoulder. I want a tee that says "F*** George Lucas"

it means somebody on their harley going BRUBRUBRUBRUBRUBRUB!

and yeah. it's the same thing. As soon as i find the restructured episodes of 4-6 i will PM you with the link. dude spent 6 years fixing episode IV back to the original VHS edition, and it looks BETTER than the blu-ray copies out these days.

I have mixed feelings. I totally get why Disney wanted Star Wars, same reason they bought Marvel. They needed something for boys because boys aren't into the Disney princesses (until they're old enough to look up porn). Why invent when you can buy the rights?

My knee-jerk reaction was "eff this". But Disney could do a lot of good as long as they don't piss on the fans. I'll pay to see movies because I've been a fan since my earliest memories. But as stated, Disney didn't do too bad with the Marvel franchise so far. I have hope Star Wars can be everything George Lucas and the fans want without being like episodes 1-3. And I'm hoping this could mean the development of some good video games, I'm still butthurt Activision disbanded Pandemic during the making of SW Battlefront 3.

They don't need to more movies about Luke Han and Leia they have books for that part of the story. They need to branch off for new characters maybe Luke's son Ben. Or let Pixar work their magic with old republic stories.
