Default RIP Mary Travers

The world was a better place musically because you were in it. I'll never forget the absolute joy I got, as a child, listening to Puff The Magic Dragon. A true troubadour that will be missed.

I saw your thread title and knew exactly what you meant...

I've puffed many a Magic Dragon in my day...

Although I'm only 40, I knew exactly who this post was referring to , My parents are folkies. I grew up listening to all the greats.

I remember when rock stations had tons of folk song bands, and they were extremely successful.

We don't have much in the way of timeless legends anymore.

PTMD sucked, but all the rest was ....groovy... man.

I didn't realize she had died. I absolutely loved her voice. To me, she and Judy Collins had the most "pure" voices.

Sad news. I knew she was having health issues. I saw Peter, Paul and Mary when I was a kid, probably around 1970. It was my first concert, the whole family went. We sat way back but I remember being thrilled. Mom and dad were big fans back in the day.
