Couldn't hack it the first OR the second time.

His decent (33-31, IIRC) record coaching in the NFL is inflated by inheriting a damn good Patriots team from Bill Parcells. Team just consistently got a little bit worse each year. The rah-rah BS doesn't cut it in the NFL.
