Default Peoria, IL - The Smell
I lived in Peoria for about 3 years when I went to Bradley. I never could put my finger on the smell that town has, but I think I finally placed it. DMS!! That's why it smells like corn / beer / bum piss on certain days of the year.

I thought it was the soy beans being dried/malted...

ADM in Peoria is/was (not sure if it still is) the largest producer of grain alcohol in the US. So yeah, they pump out the smelly stuff down there.
