Default Parenting

Before having your first child did you read any particular books, attend any classes, or did you just learn as you went?

Best. Parenting Book. Ever.

Actually, we went to some classes for the birthing process, but nothing for parenting per se. We're wingin' it. Babycenter.com has some good content, too. But, it's mostly learning from doing, and talking to our own mothers.

I read, watched videos, talked to friends, and then learned as I went. So, does your wife have a brew in the fermenter? Congrats!

We did a class on what to expect during the birthing process. My wife read a lot of books, I read only one: What to expect when your wife's expanding.

It gave me a lot of needed insight. I highly recommend it.

You know those 'life comes at you fast' commercials for Nationswide? SWMBO and I have been raising our grandson for the last 3 years. She has had experience, for me it's learn on the fly.

Cam is the 7th of eight grandchildren so I had "hands-on" experience well before he was born, starting when I was an early teen.

I'm still an amateur all these years later LOL
